In this Chinese New Year message, Pastor Aries Zulkarnain offers up food for thought on what makes for a better year. Most people consider “better” to having more than the year before, but what is God’s idea of “better”? Preaching out of Haggai 1, Pastor Aries reminds us to “give careful thought” to our ways. He posits two key points. One, in your busyness, do not forget to enjoy God. After all, the chief end of man is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever; we are to delight in the Lord. Are we enjoying Jesus or are we simply going through the motions to get His blessing? As much as we do great things for Jesus, we must enjoy having a relationship with Him. Two: In pursuit of our desires, let’s learn to be content in God. Being content is not adding to what you have, but subtracting from what your self desires (Jeremy Burroughs). As we enter the Year of the Tiger, we may experience a season of prosperity, where God’s blessings are on display in our lives, or a season of adversity, where God’s blessings come in disguise. Listen to this sermon and learn how “Godliness with contentment is great gain.” (1 Tim 6:6)

Lord, may we come back to our first love for you, putting aside and subjecting all things to your lordship and will, Amen.
