“Beatitude” in latin means to be supremely happy. In Matthew 5, Jesus shares eight Beatitudes, a list of attitudes to adopt that will bring about a deep joy and make life worth living. In this sermon, Pastor Kong takes you through each of the Beatitudes and what they mean. For example, “Blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of God” tells us to take time and effort to draw close to God. “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted” teaches us that repentance (mourning for our sins) will bring the comfort of God. “Blessed are the meek for they will inherit the earth” reminds us to develop the inner strength to be gentle and patient—not weak—and grow in the fruit of the Spirit that is self-control. Listen to this message and discover how adopting the Beatitudes will bring about a change in your heart towards God and cause you to experience supreme happiness.
