In this message, Kong Hee delves deeper into the importance of intentionally seeking silence and solitude. To be Christlike, we must make Jesus our role model. All through the Gospels, we see that no matter how intense Jesus’ preaching and healing schedule got, he always carved out time to be in a lonely place with God. Jesus lived an unhurried life: there were things He left undone to maintain His priority, which was intimacy with God. That must be every Christian’s aim, for God’s greatest desire is intimacy with us. Pastor Kong lists three blessings that we get from silence and solitude: one, we start hearing clearly from God when we come with no agenda. Two, the real “you” will surface, and you will be completely honest with God and be healed. Finally, the power of the world is detached from you. Only in silence and solitude are we “weaned” from a needs-based relationship to loving God for Who He is.
